Coordinator of Nordic-European Initiative

NIS coordinates the Nordic-European Public Investor Initiative aimed at providing concrete policy advice to the EU Commission. Members are 11 Nordic and other European public investors as well as the European Investment Fund.

The Initiative, which is also aimed at facilitating experience sharing, is organized under the auspices of the Nordic Council of Ministers.

With the decline of private venture capital investments in Europe in recent years the public investors have become increasingly important. Enhancing the output of public investing is an important task.

Coordinator of Nordic Venture Network

Nordic Venture Network (NVN), established in 1999, is the private club of the 12 leading Technology Venture Capital firms in the Nordic region. NIS functions as the coordinator of NVN since 2003.

NVN focuses on strategic relationship building between the members and international financial and industrial players. In addition NVN also acts as a discussion forum of joint issues between the members as well as between the members and the major Nordic Private Equity investors. Coordinator of Nordic to Global Initiative

NIS coordinates the Nordic to Global Initiative aimed at assisting the development and internationalization of young Nordic innovative companies. Members are the leading public early stage investors from Finland, Norway and Sweden.

The Initiative aims at providing a fast track to internationalization to Nordic innovative companies by offering support, relations and insights and is organized under the auspices of the Nordic Council of Ministers.

All Nordic start-up companies are subject to global competition and have to have international ambitions to be able to excel. Each Nordic country and market is small in a global context. As a stand-alone player it’s difficult to attract the interest of international players.

This effort is a unique cooperation between leading Nordic public early stage investors in venture capital, joining forces to assist young Nordic innovative companies to overcome the challenges mentioned above.
